Mexico’s narcotraffic bussines, a global problem
Why is Mexico’s narcotraffic problem important for the world? Why sould it matter, if it is as many people say, a foreing country an ocean away? I can tell you that this journalism student that’s writting these words, may not be mexican, but still is in danger because of it. We all are.
When we chose to be, as we all did, in the roads of communication, we decided to take as our insignia the truth and claims of society. Whenever we take a pen and paper we are in duty to denounce and take to the highest stands of the globe the problems that affect people in all corners of the planet.
Mexico’s narcotraffic problem has taken the lives of thousands of people in the streets of this Latin American country, it has corrupted police officers, ministers and public workers; it has spread in the lonely corners the blood of teenagers and kids, who were killed just because of been in a party, just because they were standing right there… Forty three thousands of persons have been executed, thousands dissapeared and others more kidnapped. Mexico is living a war against “the devil himself”, against the evil criminals who just dare to kill in order to have money and territories in their pockets.
Again, why this matters? Sence of humanity is the first thing that I call upon, but second is the fact that no country is safe from falling into narcotraffic wars and no journalist is exempt to be in the near future reporting them. We hapen to be all connected in this dark web of drugs, adictions and criminality, all the drugs that are consumed in Europe and the States are tainted with the tears of the Latin American people who have suffered the crimes of this war against “the carteles”.
